Up to nine people were detained in Athens during an early morning raid by Greece's anti-terrorism squad of at least two apartments in the central Athens district of Neos Kosmos on Tuesday, with those detained alternately identified by local media as Turkish nationals or Kurds from Turkey.

The development comes days after it was announced that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will officially visit Greece in the coming period.
