A year-long rally at the Athens Stock Exchange (ASE) over the first nine months of 2017 has improved the bourse's performance compared to the end of 2016, with roughly 6.5 billion euros in capitalization added to the market - from 45.3 billion euros on the last session of 2016 to 51.8 billion euros at the end of September.

A year-long rally at the Athens Stock Exchange (ASE) over the first nine months of 2017 has improved the bourse's performance compared to the end of 2016, with roughly 6.5 billion euros in capitalization added to the market - from 45.3 billion euros on the last session of 2016 to 51.8 billion euros at the end of September.
Average daily turnover remains at levels, at 60.04 million euros on average, while the average volume of transactions is near 79.4 million shares.
The general index over the first nine months of 2017 was up by 17.4 percent, with several sector indices posting gains of above 25 percent.
The only exception to the bullish mood at the ASE is the all-important bank sector, whose shares were down by 4.02 between January and September 2017.
