The new Greek government spokesman on Wednesday reiterated that a review of the Greek program (third bailout) must be concluded by Dec. 5 – the day of a scheduled Eurogroup meeting – in order for short-term debt relief measures to be discussed.
Dimitris Tzanakopoulos also mentioned the inclusion of Greek bonds in the ECB’s QE program and the “next steps” in term of the debt, measures that in large part depend on decisions by European creditors.
He estimated that ongoing negotiations are within a set timetable and that no glitches will occur.
“Discussions are ongoing and the timetable can be met, so that on Nov. 27-28 we can have a staff level agreement,” he said.
