Moody's issues 'credit negative' review for Attica Bank bonds with Greek state guarantee

Non-systemic Attica Bank’s intent to issue bonds with a Greek state guarantee, in order to support the bank's access to greater liquidity, earned a “credit negative” appraisal by Moody’s on Thursday, in a report by the latter (Moody’s Credit Outlook).

The development comes after the European Commission on Monday announced that Greek state guarantees for Attica Bank is in line with EU state aid rules.

The Commission said Attica’s intention to issue bonds that “can serve as collateral for Eurosystem financing operations.”
