A request for a 48-hour extension of a deadline to pay the first installment by one of the four winners of an auction for the same-number of national broadcast licenses was rejected on Monday by the relevant government general secretariat.
The request was made by a newly formed company owned by Yiannis Vladimiros Kalogritsas, which was obliged to pay 18 million euros, the first installment, by the end of the tax bureau’s opening hours on Monday.
In a terse press release, the general secretariat for information and communication cited the provisions of the tender and stated that “as a result, the relevant request is not acceptable.”
