Decreases in revenues from exports, shipping and tourism, despite increases in tourist arrivals, are overshadowing an overall improvement in the current accounts total for June and the first half of the year.
According to figures released by the Bank of Greece (BoG) on Friday, balance of trade showed a one-billion-euro surplus for June 2016, roughly double from the corresponding month in 2015.
A balance of trade deficit was recorded for the first half of the year, 2.503 billion euros, also significantly down from the same period in 2015, 3.883 billion euros.
