A sole binding bid was submitted on Monday in a tender for building a logistics-shipping center in the Thriasio industrial district, west of Piraeus. The bid was submitted by the Goldair-ET.BA consortium, and received by the state-run company that manages railway-affiliated real estate, Gaiose.
A consortium led by Chinese multinational Cosco did not, in the end, submit a bid, as was expected.
Gaiose, which manages a 58-hectare tract of land that is the center-piece of the tender, will proceed with an evaluation of the bid in the next few days. If judged satisfactory, in both an initial and subsequent phase, then the Goldair-ET.BA consortium will be declared the winner.
ET.BA is the one-time national development bank which was assumed by Piraeus Bank, although the state still retains a 20-percent stake.
