Ship prices continued to hover at record low levels over the recent period. Indicatively, a “Cape” sized vessel built in 2006 and tipping the scales at 177,500 dwt, was recently sold for 13.75 million dollars.

At the “Kamsarmax” level, the vessel “Ocean Lord”, at 82,134 DWT (2014 - Tsuneishi Zosen), was sold to Greek buyers for 18 million euros. The vessel lacks an electronically controlled fuel injection system in its primary engine.
Another vessel, the coal carrier “Kaiyo”, at 81,800 DWT (2003 – Oshima), was sold for 5.1 million dollars.
At the panamax level, the “Alpha Effort” at 72.844 DWT (2005 - Samsung) was sold for 3.5 million dollars, while the “Argo”, at76.728 DWT, (2005 - Sasebo) along with the Supramax “Indigo”, at 53,609 DWT (2003 - Iwagi Zosen) were purchased by Empire Navigation for 12.25 million dollars.
