Main opposition New Democracy (ND) leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis will travel to Israel on Saturday for a series of meetings and contacts with the country’s political leadership, as well as visits to several of Israel’s world-class research institutes and well-known start-up clusters.
Main opposition New Democracy (ND) leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis will travel to Israel on Saturday for a series of meetings and contacts with the country’s political leadership, as well as visits to several of Israel’s world-class research institutes and well-known start-up clusters.
On Saturday the former minister will be received by the Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos III.
On Sunday, he will be received by the President of Israel, Reuven Rivlin, followed on Monday with a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Later on Monday, Mitsotakis will meet with Knesset Speaker Yuli-Yoel Edelstein.
Other meetings on the ND leader’s itinerary are with MP Ayelet Nahmias-Verbin, who chairs the Israel-Greece Parliamentary Friendship Group in the Knesset, as well as with former foreign minister Tzipi Livni, the co-founder of the Zionist Union party.
Mitsotakis will also travel to Ramallah, on the West Bank, for meeting with the Palestinian leadership.
Finally, the ND president will pay a visit to the Yad Vashem Holocaust Remembrance Center.
