The head of Greece’s state-run power company, listed PPC, on Tuesday announced a discount for prompt-paying consumers of up to 15 percent, during comments at a relevant committee meeting in Parliament.
PPC President Manolis Panagiotakis said lower rates will be available as of July 1, 2016, but only for household and businesses that promptly pay their PPC bills will be eligible, as well as customers that are fulfilling payment plans to erase past debts.
PPC’s board of directors is expected to approve of the measure during a meeting on Wednesday.
PPC, known as DEI with its Greek-language acronym, retains an overwhelming share of the local power market.
