Representatives of institutional creditors, the so-called “quartet”, are expected to return to Athens for negotiations either on Monday or Tuesday, a Commission spokesman said in Brussels.
Spokesman Margaritis Schinas added that the goal is to achieve a conclusion of talks leading to the first review of the Greek program (third bailout) as soon as possible.
He also said talks between the Greek side and lenders on the sidelines of the spring IMF meeting in Washington D.C. over the weekend were productive.
Schinas said a Eurogroup meeting on Friday in Amsterdam is expected to record progress to date in the talks, while he avoided taking a position on whether an agreement will be coming during the meeting.
