Uncle Sam's «wings» join Greek F16s in Acropolis flyover

A formation of two Hellenic Air Force F-16s and two USAF F-15s flew low over the Athenian landscape on a brilliantly lit Wednesday morning as part of the military exercise “Iniohos”, which also allowed for a commemorative photograph with the Acropolis in the background.

The exercise later included joint training between the Greek air force’s 865th aerial refueling squadron with the USAF’s 37th Airlift Squadron, as well as the dropping of parachute commandos and battle-field simulated supplies at a military training ground west of Athens at the Megara site.

The fighter planes' flight was easily discerned over much of the greater Athens area.
