March 2016 job figures show positive trend

March 2016 recorded a positive trend in Greece’s employment sector, with 29,351 more jobs created as opposed to job spots lost.

March 2016 recorded a positive trend in Greece’s employment sector, with 29,351 more jobs created as opposed to job spots lost.

Specifically, based on figures released by the relevant ministry, 149,028 people were listed as new hirings during the previous month, as opposed to departures of 119,677. Of the latter, 57,573 were voluntary resignations, with the rest being layoffs of full-time or contract workers.

The positive difference in March 2015 was 22,313 more jobs created than lost. As such, March 2016 posted an even better result, improving the figure by just more than 7,000 job spots.
