The president of the Hellenic Bank Association, Louka Katseli, on Tuesday cited what she called necessary conditions in order to lift capital controls in the country, namely, completion of the first review of the Greek program and a return to normal ECB liquidity towards Greek banks.

Katseli, who is also the non-executive chairwoman of the board for the National Bank of Greece, the country’s largest credit institution, said normalcy in the crisis-plagued Greek economy and business sector cannot resume until capital controls are lifted.

She spoke to DW on the sidelines of a conference in Berlin entitled “Restoring Confidence and Navigating for New Trade and Investment”.
