A subsidized employment program for jobless people over the age of 50 begins this month, with the goal of covering 15,000 job spots for a 12-month period.
The program, run by the state’s Manpower Employment Organization (OAED), involves eligible applicants already registered as unemployed with OAED.
Businesses allowed to participate in the subsidized job program must not have reduced their employment roll in the previous 12 months.
The program will subsidize 50 percent of the monthly salary costs of eligible and placed applicants, with a ceiling of 500 euros.
