Based on travelers’ reviews, the well-established search engine listed the 50 most popular winter destinations around the world, with no less than six Greek locations appearing.
The well-known and historic town of Metsovo, in mountainous northwest Greece, comes in sixth on the list, followed by the lakeside cities of Kastoria (29th) and Ioannina (31st); Edessa (32nd), Karpenissi (40th) and the ski resort village of Portaria in the central Pelion region (43rd).
The best winter destination, according to Trivago’s reviewers, is Austria’s Tux-Hintertux .
